01What should I have ready for an insurance tow?
Your insurer's name, your claim or reference number if one has been issued, the destination they have nominated, and your own contact details. If the claim has not been lodged yet, the tow can still happen; the paperwork catches up.
02Will my insurer pay for the tow?
That depends entirely on your policy and your claim. Many comprehensive policies include towing after an accident. Ask your insurer directly before assuming either way.
03Can you collect a vehicle from a police holding yard?
Collections from holding yards and impound facilities can be arranged, but the release paperwork has to be sorted by the owner first. Call and explain the situation.
